Title: Computer Systems Analyst
Location: Pasadena, CA
Type: 18 months temporary contract on W2
Job Description: The selected candidate will be part of a team responsible for maintaining the confidentiality, integrity and availability of our systems, data and services and assist other security team members with their assigned responsibilities as necessary and appropriate. S/he will execute on planned strategies, policies, and documentation efforts and will be responsible for managing projects and tasks within their areas of responsibility, developing and coordinating work plans and schedules dependent upon available resources.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead the system-wide cybersecurity compliance program, ensuring IT activities, processes, and procedures meet regulatory and industrial requirements.
- Analyze computer systems to ensure they are operating securely and that data is protected from both internal and external attacks.
- Develop and implement effective policies and practices to safeguard digital assets and prevent unauthorized access.
- Recommend process improvement and technical directions in matters relating to program maturity, incident investigation, threat management, and control assessment.
- Ensure that proposed and existing systems architectures are aligned with required security goals and objectives.
- Develop, document, communicate, and enforce a policy for standardizing systems and software as necessary.
- Lead investigations of security violations and breaches and recommends solutions; prepares reports on intrusions as necessary and provides analysis summary to management.
- Organize the collection of data from required security artifacts and questionnaires for industry framework and other related industrial and cybersecurity standards and mapping this to the company control portfolio.
- Build and maintain cybersecurity metrics for all levels of management focused on trending and tracking reports to demonstrate compliance and improve resilience.
- Develop program strategies to improve cyber hygiene and address awareness and training for all stakeholders.
- Perform security review in technology products and solutions (including security tools and systems), identify gaps in control design and operation, and develop remediation plan.
- Provide advice and input for IT disaster recovery, contingency, and continuity of operations plans.
- Define policy and standards for data protection and recovery.
- Perform access & privilege review for both machine and human accounts.
- Properly document all systems security implementation, operations, and maintenance activities and update as necessary.
- Provide input to risk management process activities and related documentation (e.g., system life-cycle support plans, concept of operations, operational procedures, and maintenance training materials).
- Provide security expertise, technical leadership, and assistance to Business Analysts, Network Technicians, Systems Architects, and software development teams.
- Provide incident response support as toolset-specific Subject Matter Expert for security events including but not limited to intrusion detection, malware infections, denial of service attacks, privileged account misuse and network breaches.
- Recommend improvements to the client’s existing security systems portfolio.
- Review emerging security technologies in support of systems development efforts, and recommend technologies that will increase cost effectiveness and systems flexibility.
- Recommend solutions for security violations and breaches.
Required Experience:
– Minimum of 10+ years related information and cyber security experience;
– Equivalent work experience implementing and operating enterprise level cyber security solutions.
Qualifications and Certifications:
– Bachelor’s degree in a technical field (e.g. Computer Science, IT, or similar disciplines).
– Professional certifications such as CISA, CISSP.
